61. October Caddis Pupa - Dustin's October Caddis Pupa fly pattern is a great fly to swing for steelhead and even trout at the end of September just prior to the emergence of the adult October caddis. It is best to coordinate your timing will the falling of the the leaves. October caddis are already an unpredictable hatch, but the pupa become active when they notice temperatures falling. Also, look for pupal shucks along bankside rocks and you will know the time is right. Sometimes fishing a pupa pattern versus the actual adult on the surface will produce more strikes since it is the easier take for steelhead. Fish this pattern with confidence and hang on! - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

62. Opal Midge - The Opal Midge is an easy tie and very effective midge larva pattern. I am tying this pattern on an Allen Fly Fishing N304 hook. This particular hook is a straight-eye, 2X-short shank, thin wire, emerger/scud hook. Check them out by visiting www.allenflyfishing.com I generally fish this pattern in the late fall through early spring months. I generally find that in the winter months, the trout tend to pod in specific areas of the river, generally an area with lots of sunlight. These fish become very picky on what they eat. The mirage opal tinsel gives off a wide range of colors and the UV Clear Fly Finish head gives the fly's thorax a lot of depth and shine. I have had amazing results when using this fly, generally as the end fly in a tandem nymph rigging set-up. Tie some up and see for yourself! 63. Napoleon's Dynamite nymph - Featured in this fly tying tutorial is a pattern that is popular among the Czech/Euro nymphing crowd, Napoleon's Dynamite. This is a fly that features weight, a slender body, and a couple hot spots. Combined with those characteristics are some great colors, and we have a pattern that catches lots of fish. The hot spot can be as a tag or collar, with the former being more effective in areas that receive lots of fishing pressure. Feel free to modify this pattern to meet the needs of your fishing, and I recommend starting by substituting other fluorescent colors. Featured in this tutorial are the J100BL jig hooks from Allen Fly Fishing; check out these hooks and other fly fishing supplies here: http://www.allenflyfishing.com/ Also featured in this video are tungsten slotted disco beads from Rip Lips Fishing. These are great beads, and I encourage you to check out these and all of the other varieties here: http://www.riplipsfishing.com/ Thanks for viewing this fly tying tutorial of Napoleon's Dynamite. Feel free to leave any questions/comments directly on this YouTube page, or email me: tcammisa@gmail.com - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

64. Sparkle Minnow - Dustin is behind the vise tying one of his all-time favorite streamers; a variation of Coffey's Sparkle Minnow. It has been one of the most productive streamers in the Pacific Northwest or anywhere you like throwing big, flashy baitfish. This pattern has also proven its effectiveness on stillwaters. We've carried these flies in the shop before and they are absolutely deadly. This fly typically works on grey days, but it gets a lot of attention on sunny days as well. Either way, you should definitely include this pattern in your streamer arsenal. To capitalize on this pattern's effectiveness, you will need a dubbing brush tool. Today we're tying this fly in pearl and silver, but you can vary things up by trying gold and pearl, which is ideal for cutthroat. MATERIALS: • TMC #300 Streamer Hook - Size 2 • 1/4" Real Eyes in Nickle/Pearl • White & Gray Maribou • Tan UV Crystal Flash • Silver Ice Dub • Dubbing Brush Tool • .025 Lead Wire - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher
