94. LWFF Spanflex Midge - This is one of our in house midge patterns that Chris designed several years ago. It's an extremely easy fly to tie and has proved its worth as a trout magnet! Normally we fish this midge as a dropper; however, if you put some floatant on the CDC emerger wing, it will float in the surface film. Tie a few of these up and let us know how you do! Call the shop at (512) 828-FISH if you have any questions about how to tie or fish this pattern! www.livingwatersflyfishing.com - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

95. Fall Special - A short fly tying video showing how to tie a Fall Special Nymph. This bead head fly is tied using a #16 nymph hook, but this simple pattern can be tied to match the hatch. I use the Fall Special just about all year, and especially August through October. I believe that this pattern looks like a drowned PMD Spinner or perhaps a struggling nymph. This fly will work best whenever you see brown or rusty spinners over the water. If you have ever considered fly fishing in the Colorado Rockies, this is your year. Recent years of low water have made the hatches bountiful and long lasting. The fish are bigger and stronger than you might think. Consider hiring me, Capt. Matt, to show you an incredible fly fishing experience from a boat when you travel to the Colorado Rockies this year. Go to http://www.riplips.com for information and booking. - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

98. Hot Spot Spider (soft hackle) - Featured in this fly tying tutorial is the Hot Spot Spider, a slight variation of the classic that so many North Country flies rotate around. Spiders, also commonly referred to as soft hackles, typically consist of thin silk thread bodies and sparse amounts of hackle from varying game birds. This pattern adds a modern material, Glo-Brite, for a hot spot by its head. In this tutorial, I also show how to properly prepare a hackle for spider and soft hackle patterns. The hook used in this tutorial is one of my favorite wet fly / nymph hooks, the W502BL from Allen Fly Fishing. With a sproat bend and 2x heavy, this classic looking nymph hook is perfect for spiders and soft hackles. You can find the hook at the following link: http://www.allenflyfishing.com/w502bl-wet-fly-nymph-barbless/ Thanks for viewing this fly tying tutorial, feel free to leave comments & questions directly on this YouTube page, or you can email me: tcammisa@gmail.com - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

100. RS2 - An RS2 is a must have in any anglers fly box. This mayfly emerger pattern is one of the most versatile and effective flies to fish. I am going be tying the RS2 on an Allen Fly Fishing D103S hook between the sizes of 16 through 20. This particular dry fly hook has a straight eye, 1X--long shank and thin wire. This hook is new to the Allen Fly Fishing hook line up and will soon be one of my favorites, show check them out by visiting www.allenflyfishing.com This fly can be tied in many different colors to match the hatch in your local area. Try using PMD, Brown/Olive, Black Superfine Dubbing. I generally will use the light dun microfibetts and bright white antron on all color variations. The most effective way to fish this pattern is to fish it in the surface film or slightly below it. At the end of the dead drift raise your rod tip slightly, the fly will move towards the surface imitating an emerging may fly.
