81. Fluttering Little Black Stonefly - Hans Stephenson of Dakota Angler & Outfitter ties a Fluttering Black Stonefly. The CDC split winging technique gives the appearance of the fluttering wing pairs of stoneflies. While the the fly in this video was tied to match the Early Black Stoneflies, the coloration can be adapted to other stonefly species. This style of fly is an excellent imitation of fluttering yellow sally stoneflies, when tied with a yellow body, red egg sack, and light yellow or cream colored CDC. For the early little black stoneflies, tie this pattern in size 14-18. A strong fine diameter thread make a big difference when tying this pattern. Threads such as Tiemco's 16/0 or Veevus 14/0-16/0 are strong and build very little bulk. Using these threads on this pattern allow the tier to maintain a slender profile. - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

82. Fall Special - A short fly tying video showing how to tie a Fall Special Nymph. This bead head fly is tied using a #16 nymph hook, but this simple pattern can be tied to match the hatch. I use the Fall Special just about all year, and especially August through October. I believe that this pattern looks like a drowned PMD Spinner or perhaps a struggling nymph. This fly will work best whenever you see brown or rusty spinners over the water. If you have ever considered fly fishing in the Colorado Rockies, this is your year. Recent years of low water have made the hatches bountiful and long lasting. The fish are bigger and stronger than you might think. Consider hiring me, Capt. Matt, to show you an incredible fly fishing experience from a boat when you travel to the Colorado Rockies this year. Go to http://www.riplips.com for information and booking. - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

83. Starling Nymph - Fly tying video showing how to tie a soft hackle pattern using starling hackle. This simple nymph pattern is very effective for trout. I have also learned to use this little soft hackle fly for carp that are cruising near the surface. To a fish, a Starling Nymph just looks like a little bite of food, innocent and delicious. Capt Matt is a fly fishing guide in the Colorado Rockies during the Summer and Fall. Flies like this one prove themselves every day by getting the bite. If you would like to experience the best fly fishing Colorado has to offer, contact Capt Matt at www.riplips.com Thanks for watching! - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

88. Action Jackson - The Action Jackson is the most successful articulated streamer pattern that I have ever fished. I am using an AFF MP001 (up-turned eye, multipurpose, stinger hook) for the trailing hook and an AFF S404 (straight eye, 4X-long, round bend, streamer hook) for the front hook. Check them out at http://www.allenflyfishing.com. There are three things that make this pattern so effective. First, most fish do not fully eat a leach, sculpins or bait fish on the first strike; they wound them first by biting their tail. The stinger hook at the tail of the fly reduces the chances of short strikes/ missed opportunities. Secondly, the articulated portion of the tail moves freely in the water and gives the illusion of a swimming leech, sculpin or baitfish. Lastly, the squirrel hair and legs provide excellent movement in the water. The sili legs project lots of UV light that grabs the fish's attention. This pattern is also effective in the following colors; black, rust, chartreuse, brown, tan and natural. You can also tie this pattern in different lengths. 90. John Barr's Meat Whistle - For this tutorial, I chose a great streamer that is known to catch large fish. Using a barbless jig nymph hook from Allen Fly Fishing (http://www.allenflyfishing.com/), I varied the colors of John Barr's original slightly to create this "Meat Whistle." Enjoy learning how to tie this pattern, and feel free to leave any comments/questions here or email me: tcammisa@gmail.com - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher
