42. Pintar PT Nymph - It’s a jig-style pattern, so it’ll ride up-side-down, and therefore not snagging on the bottom that much. Next to the “Simon Templer nymph” and “La Bomba” it has become my go-to fly for fast water. It’s a real killer! The CDC gives this fly something special under water. Also try some more color variations. Same fly, but with an olive abdomen has given me great results for grayling. You can fish it in a team of flies, as a point fly or middle dropper, but you can also fish it as a single fly. In Slovenia you have this fly as a single, because it is not allowed to fish with multiple flies. I’ve fished this fly mainly in a French/Czech nymphing setup, but you can also fish it the old fashion way, on a dead upstream drift. - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

Thanks to the fact, that Slovakian rivers are not so famous as Austrian, German, Czech or Slovenian one, they do not stand under huge fishing pressure. Slovakia has the most national parks per square kilometre and due to this circumstance lot of untouched river systems. This makes Slovakia truly great fly fishing destination for fly fishermen, who enjoy pure nature. These facts are underline with the world highest productivity (insect-diversity and insect-quantity per m2) of Slovakian mountain rivers. Diversity of Slovakian water systems: big rivers, lakes, reservoirs, mountain rivers, creeks or mountain lakes - all what passionate fly fisherman can just think of, is offered by Fly Fishing in Slovakia. 47. Weighted SL baetis nymph - Hook: TMC 100 BL #18 & #20 Head: 2mm black tungsten bead (use 1.7mm or 1.5mm on #20 hooks) Thread: Spiderweb Tails: Hackle barbs Abdomen: Goose biot, olive Thorax: Squirrel dubbing, darker than abdomen I use this fly in Slovenia. The fly is very easy to cast on my #4 rods, and I use a small 2mm strike indicator approx. 4 feet from the fly. I fish the fly upstream to fish I've spotted as I would a dry fly. Very easy to tie, and the fly sinks reasonable fast. Not a exactly bottom dancer, but the fly does a very good job at imitating small baetis nymphs taking the last free flow of their lives. - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

50. George Daniel's Czech Catnip - This fly tying tutorial features George Daniel's Czech Catnip, a fly commonly used as the "anchor" for those familiar with Czech Nymphing. The anchor fly is the heaviest fly placed on the setup, and this one works great for it bc of both its weight and ability to attract fish. This is a no-nonsense fly, plus relatively simple to tie, and I encourage you to add some of these to your fly box. Being that the main material (Micro Polar Chenille) comes in a variety of colors, this pattern can be varied quite easily. I made a slight variation to the original pattern by substituting UV Chartreuse Polar Chenille in place of the original Olive, and I believe this change helps to make the fly more of an attractor-type in waters especially for trout, steelhead, salmon, and grayling. If there are any additional combinations of materials that have worked for you, feel free to share via this page. Featured in this fly tying tutorial are the N203BL hooks by Allen Fly Fishing. These hooks have a great look to them, are barbless, plus are 2x heavy, with that additional weight helping to get this fly to the bottom quickly. I encourage you to check out these hooks and more at: http://www.allenflyfishing.com/n203bl/ Thanks for viewing this fly tying tutorial; feel free to leave comments/questions directly on this YouTube page or email me: tcammisa@gmail.com - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher
