132. Deer Hair Ant - In this fly tying tutorial, less is definitely more! Featured in this video is a deer hair ant consisting of just a couple materials. The buoyant fly is realistic, easy to tie, and most importantly, effective. I first stumbled across this pattern in George Harvey's book and believe this to be one of the best ant patterns out there. You can also turn this into a high-visibility fly by adding some fluorescent yarn to the top. As always, if you decide to revise the pattern at all, please feel free to share the results! The hook that I feature in this fly tying tutorial is the N202 from Allen Fly Fishing. This hook is intended for terrestrials and really suits this pattern. You can view this hook (and more) at the following link: http://www.allenflyfishing.com/n202-nymph-dry-fly/ Thanks for viewing this fly tying tutorial; feel free to leave any comments/questions directly on this YouTube page, or email me: tcammisa@gmail.com - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

133. Squimp - Some of the best patterns to fish are those that use simple materials and are easier to tie, thus defining the "Squimp!" A combination squid and shrimp with excellent movement in the water, this pattern is a favorite for many saltwater fly fisherman and becoming a staple in my saltwater fly box. The best part is that the fly can be easily varied by modifying the materials and/or colors, thus making it a favorite for those creative at the vise, too. My final tip is that this fly can also be altered to resemble a crayfish, thus giving freshwater fly fisherman some additional ideas. Featured in this YouTube fly tying tutorial are saltwater hooks by Allen Fly Fishing; you can find those and many more at the following link: http://www.allenflyfishing.com/sw001-saltwater/ Thanks for viewing this YouTube fly tying tutorial, and I encourage you to view my additional videos at the following website: http://www.troutandfeather.com Feel free to leave any questions/comments on this YouTube page, or you can email me: tcammisa@gmail.com - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

135. Shuttlecock Buzzer - This pattern is based on the Shuttlecock Buzzer patterns I have seen published in Czech books and websites. I typically tie these in smaller sizes for imitating emerging midges on my local trout streams. My favorite sizes are 16-22. Black, Olive, and Grey are all productive colors. This fly can be tied much larger when fishing chironomid hatches on stillwaters. When tying this fly in larger sizes it helps to add 1 or 2 feathers to the wing. - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

136. Arabian Pompano - A solo kayak fishing trip to a remote stretch of coast in south-central Oman. Lots of baby camels, followed by a beautiful morning with fresh brewed coffee, a Garrison Keillor podcast, and gentle surf. 137. The BC Needlefish - Trolling Bucktail style flies tied on tubes was very common during the glory days of ocean Silver Salmon recreational fisheries of the 1950s -- 1980s from Northern California through SE Alaska. Regions like Puget Sound and Vancouver Island spawned many versions of Coho Tube flies that had local followings and rationale for the selection of one pattern over another. Near as I can tell, fly anglers used these tube Bucktail flies to troll as well as cast to feeding Coho in saltwater. The various fly patterns are sometimes suggestive of a natural baitfish and sometimes just wild bright flashy fish strike attractors. This Tube Bucktail is a simple pattern inspired by several flies I have seen popularized by BC anglers specifically imitating big Needlefish. The Steve Farrar's Blend material is easy to work with, durable, and swims your fly true, without the worry of needing to select the perfect Bucktail hair.
