91. March Brown Wet Fly - Here is a great traditional wet fly pattern, the March Brown. The March Brown is one of the first wet fly patterns I learned to tie and fish. In this video I stray from the standard recipe a little bit to show that your can get similar results by using what you have when you don't have what the standard calls for. 93. Extended Mayfly Body - In this fly tying tutorial, I demonstrate one (of many!) technique for creating extended mayfly bodies using deer hair. This is a great method, and reduces the amount of materials you need for certain patterns, such as the green drake, slate drake (Isonychia), and other mayflies with lengthy bodies/abdomens. When tying flies with this particular method, ensure the body thickness is appropriate to match the natural by either increasing/reducing the size of the needle or selecting a sparser/fuller amount of deer hair. With a little practice, this method is both fun and effective...basically, the best of both worlds! 97. Frog Water - Topwater Fly Fishing for Bass in Oregon. There is something very special about wading through the flat, reed-filled water, throwing four inch long, floating frog patterns. The anticipation...waiting for the water to explode, and a football shaped fish to shoot from the water. Bass fishing is awesome, and it's very different compared to the most of the fishing we do; wading through 4-8ft high reeds, finding open, flat-water slots, is the name of the game.
