31. John Barr's Bouface - This is one of my favorite patterns tied by John Barr. This particular pattern, as well as other classic Barr patterns can be found in his book, Barr's Flies. The bouface is tied to mimic a leech and can be tied in many different color variations. The combination of squirrel hair, flashabou and marabou makes this an excellent fish catching pattern. This particular pattern is tied on a AFF N201 (3x-long, humped shank, nymph hook). This hook is super strong and extremely sharp. I have caught some 20 inch trout on this pattern and have never bent or broke this hook. Check out Allen Fly Fishing www.allenflyfishing.com to view their selection of hooks, beads and much more. 32. Fly Fishing Brown and Rainbow Trout in Urban Tasmania - Urban Fly Fishing is Flyfishing / Trout Fishing 20 minutes from Hobart, Tasmania in Australia. Fishing for wild Brown and Rainbow Trout. Most of my fish are sight casted in clear or gin clear water. This is river fishing at it's best on clear sunny summer days. I use various fly patterns which in time I will show you how to tie in my fly tying videos. The evening rise is as usual the best time to fish, with Trout jumping out of the water and free swimming right under my feet. Barramundi Fishing, Permit Fishing, Tusk Fish Fishing are among my most popular video's. Fly fishing Airlie Beach / Whitsunday Islands / Great Barrier Reef / Bowen / Peter Faust Dam / Lake Proserpine area. Filmed using GoPro video camera, edited on an Apple Macintosh using iMovie and sound tracks made using Garageband. Some video's are also made using Youtube's Free Audio Library as the soundtrack. Footage provided by Andy Thomsen from Andy's Fishing Charters. 33. Pumpkinhead - The pumpkin head is a staple pattern in many western still water anglers flyboxes. John Kent popped by the fly shop at Robinson's this past weekend to demo some of his favourite stillwater patterns. This is the first of a weekly installment of tying videos of patterns John spun up during the demo. Here is one (of many) of his claims to fame--the pumpkin head. - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

34. Lake Troll - Trolling with big, flashy and colorful fly patterns can be a very productive way to cover a wide variety of stillwater structure areas. Calvin Fuller's Lake Troll fly is very effective in creating movement in the water by using big materials and bold flashy colors to gain the attraction of lake trout and even other lake dwelling fish species. Designed to mimic small kokanee salmon, this fly is very popular in Lake Pend Oreille in Idaho and Kootenay Lake in Southern British Columbia just north of the Idaho border. Finding the right depth and speed while trolling flys with a full sinking fly line just might be more production than any other trolling you have ever done. Tie some of these up, or put your own creative twist to this fly and get out and start trolling your favorite stillwaters. - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

35. The BC Needlefish - Trolling Bucktail style flies tied on tubes was very common during the glory days of ocean Silver Salmon recreational fisheries of the 1950s -- 1980s from Northern California through SE Alaska. Regions like Puget Sound and Vancouver Island spawned many versions of Coho Tube flies that had local followings and rationale for the selection of one pattern over another. Near as I can tell, fly anglers used these tube Bucktail flies to troll as well as cast to feeding Coho in saltwater. The various fly patterns are sometimes suggestive of a natural baitfish and sometimes just wild bright flashy fish strike attractors. This Tube Bucktail is a simple pattern inspired by several flies I have seen popularized by BC anglers specifically imitating big Needlefish. The Steve Farrar's Blend material is easy to work with, durable, and swims your fly true, without the worry of needing to select the perfect Bucktail hair. 36. Bastard Crab - I call this fly the Bastard Crab because it is my bastardization of a great pattern I picked up from Greg Vincent, who runs H2O Bonefishing on Grand Bahama Island. Greg is a fantastic fly tyer, and ties some productive and great looking flies. I used one of his crab patterns on a trip there in June 2008, and came home and tied my version from memory, with a little bit of a pesonal twist - not as nice a fly as Greg's, but the bastardized version is also very effective. I've caught bonefish, redfish, and tripletail on this pattern so far. I've also seen this type of pattern showing up in numerous other spots, suggesting it is widely effective. This pattern is a variation of the famous Del Brown Merkin crab pattern. I use Puglisi fibers for the body instead of yarn. There is no hackle for claws, only marabou, and the numerous (6 legs for size 2, 5 for size 4) legs are tied in on the hook side of the shank to that they stand up from the fly rather than splay out. The fly does not have to be stripped, the legs and marabou provide plenty of action to a falling or resting fly. - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

37. Deer Hair Ant - In this fly tying tutorial, less is definitely more! Featured in this video is a deer hair ant consisting of just a couple materials. The buoyant fly is realistic, easy to tie, and most importantly, effective. I first stumbled across this pattern in George Harvey's book and believe this to be one of the best ant patterns out there. You can also turn this into a high-visibility fly by adding some fluorescent yarn to the top. As always, if you decide to revise the pattern at all, please feel free to share the results! The hook that I feature in this fly tying tutorial is the N202 from Allen Fly Fishing. This hook is intended for terrestrials and really suits this pattern. You can view this hook (and more) at the following link: http://www.allenflyfishing.com/n202-nymph-dry-fly/ Thanks for viewing this fly tying tutorial; feel free to leave any comments/questions directly on this YouTube page, or email me: tcammisa@gmail.com - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

38. Madison Guide Cripple - When researching some dry fly patterns for my trip to Montana a few years ago, I came across this pattern that would double as a mayfly or caddis emerger. This pattern was originated by Craig Matthews out of the Blue Ribbon Flies Shop in West Yellowstone. I have been more willing to try more cripple patterns since I have fished this one. It will always have a place in my fly box. Tying: Jared Plisko - www.brooksbrownsandbows.com Film and Editing: Nick Cramer - www.agtv.net - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

39. Sulfur (Sulphur) Parachute Emerger - In this fly tying tutorial, I imitate the stage occurring prior to the mayfly turning into an adult, the emerger stage. Using a sulfur (sulphur) as my base pattern, I briefly discuss the qualities that make this fly an emerger, list the needed materials, and then give a fly tying tutorial of the pattern. This is a great pattern to use once you begin to see trout feeding on the surface during the beginning stages of the hatch. Featured in this tutorial is a hook by Allen Fly Fishing ( http://www.allenflyfishing.com/d102bl-dry-fly-wide-gape-barbless/ ); this is an excellent dry fly hook for this, and similar, patterns. Also featured is saddle hackle by Clearwater Hackle ( http://www.clearwaterhackle.com/saddles/ ); I encourage you to utilize this incredible hackle, which is found in a variety of colors. Thanks for viewing this fly tying tutorial; please feel free to leave any comments or questions directly on this YouTube page, or you can email me: tcammisa@gmail.com - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher
