31. The BC Needlefish - Trolling Bucktail style flies tied on tubes was very common during the glory days of ocean Silver Salmon recreational fisheries of the 1950s -- 1980s from Northern California through SE Alaska. Regions like Puget Sound and Vancouver Island spawned many versions of Coho Tube flies that had local followings and rationale for the selection of one pattern over another. Near as I can tell, fly anglers used these tube Bucktail flies to troll as well as cast to feeding Coho in saltwater. The various fly patterns are sometimes suggestive of a natural baitfish and sometimes just wild bright flashy fish strike attractors. This Tube Bucktail is a simple pattern inspired by several flies I have seen popularized by BC anglers specifically imitating big Needlefish. The Steve Farrar's Blend material is easy to work with, durable, and swims your fly true, without the worry of needing to select the perfect Bucktail hair. 32. Deer Hair Ant - In this fly tying tutorial, less is definitely more! Featured in this video is a deer hair ant consisting of just a couple materials. The buoyant fly is realistic, easy to tie, and most importantly, effective. I first stumbled across this pattern in George Harvey's book and believe this to be one of the best ant patterns out there. You can also turn this into a high-visibility fly by adding some fluorescent yarn to the top. As always, if you decide to revise the pattern at all, please feel free to share the results! The hook that I feature in this fly tying tutorial is the N202 from Allen Fly Fishing. This hook is intended for terrestrials and really suits this pattern. You can view this hook (and more) at the following link: http://www.allenflyfishing.com/n202-nymph-dry-fly/ Thanks for viewing this fly tying tutorial; feel free to leave any comments/questions directly on this YouTube page, or email me: tcammisa@gmail.com - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

33. Madison Guide Cripple - When researching some dry fly patterns for my trip to Montana a few years ago, I came across this pattern that would double as a mayfly or caddis emerger. This pattern was originated by Craig Matthews out of the Blue Ribbon Flies Shop in West Yellowstone. I have been more willing to try more cripple patterns since I have fished this one. It will always have a place in my fly box. Tying: Jared Plisko - www.brooksbrownsandbows.com Film and Editing: Nick Cramer - www.agtv.net - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

34. Sulfur (Sulphur) Parachute Emerger - In this fly tying tutorial, I imitate the stage occurring prior to the mayfly turning into an adult, the emerger stage. Using a sulfur (sulphur) as my base pattern, I briefly discuss the qualities that make this fly an emerger, list the needed materials, and then give a fly tying tutorial of the pattern. This is a great pattern to use once you begin to see trout feeding on the surface during the beginning stages of the hatch. Featured in this tutorial is a hook by Allen Fly Fishing ( http://www.allenflyfishing.com/d102bl-dry-fly-wide-gape-barbless/ ); this is an excellent dry fly hook for this, and similar, patterns. Also featured is saddle hackle by Clearwater Hackle ( http://www.clearwaterhackle.com/saddles/ ); I encourage you to utilize this incredible hackle, which is found in a variety of colors. Thanks for viewing this fly tying tutorial; please feel free to leave any comments or questions directly on this YouTube page, or you can email me: tcammisa@gmail.com - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

36. DJ-Special Bonefish fly - I was introduced to this pattern by Dale and Joanie when I met them on a flat that had a lot of tailing bones at that time, I was eager to fish but decided that it was best to chat with them first. They where very nice and we began discussing Bonefish flies very quickly. I showed them my box and they loved my DD-Shrimp, so I gave them a few to try. In return Dale showed me his secret fly, no name and a no nonsense fly, but it looked very.... very fishy! I caught a bunch of bones on Dales fly that trip and it is a standard in my box now! Representing a small crab or a hermit-crab it looks different than most patterns. So tie some over Dales special flies for your next outing, the bones will love them! - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

37. Capercaillie Sculpin - Hook: Kamasan B840 or Partridge JS11 Thread: 8/0 UniThread, white Cone: Silver conehead in the appropriate size Tails: Partridge flank feather barbs Body: Austrailian Opossom, natural Body hackles: Partridge flank feather Front hackle: Capercaillie body feather One of my goto patterns for seatrout on the coasts and bays of Djursland, Denmark. Very easy fly to tie, that fishes well all year around. If you tie the fly to the tippet with a small rapala loop, the fly has an awesome motion in the water. Looks almost like a small sculpin. You can tie them in any size you'd like, but I prefer them large - large as in size 2 or larger. The best hooks for this kind of fly, in my opinion, are the hooks with a large hook gape. I find the TMC 811S and Mustad 34007 to have too small of a hook gape for this kind of pattern. I only used the capercaillie to make a fly that sticks out, and to the best of my knowledge, I don't think there's a saltwater pattern for seatrout that uses these feathers. You can use whatever front hackle you'd like or have available. - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

38. RK's Variant Sculpin - The Variant Sculpin is a pattern I designed with inspiration from many different patterns such as the "Sculpzilla" and the "Slumpbuster". This particular fly is tied on an AFF S403 (Down-eye, 3x-long, round-bend, streamer hook) by Allen Fly Fishing. AFF has a great selection of hooks, beads and much more. Check them out at www.allenflyfishing.com I find the variant color of this pattern to be very effective for the rivers I fish in Colorado and Utah. Especially the Green River below flaming gorge reservoir. Many effective streamer patterns on this stretch are ginger in color due to the sandy and light colored bottom of the river. This pattern sinks extremely fast and has "life-like" movement in the water. You can either fish this fly in a dead drift or strip it, both are effective. The big boys and girls will notice this fly. You've been warned! To view RK's Fly Design complete fly collection Visit www.facebook.com/RKsFlyDesign - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

39. Hans' Hopper - There are many great hopper patterns out there. This pattern combines bits and pieces of several hopper patterns, with a couple of unique twists. As with most foam patterns, this hopper floats well. The accents of uv ice dub, cdc, and web wing add a few new triggers.
