71. CDC Parachute Flies - During this fly tying tutorial, I show a simple technique used for tying parachute CDC flies. This is an effective method that utilizes a great material to use with parachute dry flies, especially for those difficult fish in pressured water. With a little practice, this technique can be applied to your emerger patterns, and I believe will ultimately lead to more fish. During this video, I referenced a website to learn more about CDC feathers; you can view the information here: http://globalflyfisher.com/tiebetter/... The dubbing loop tool that I used during this video was made by Stonfo, an Italian-based company. Information about this Rotodubbing Elite can be found at the following link: http://www.stonfo.it/site/product/611... 73. Copper John Variant - In this fly tying tutorial, I show an easier version of the fish-catching nymph, the Copper John. In this version, I incorporate some characteristics of the Pheasant Tail, ala Frank Sawyer, hence the more appropriate name may be the Copper John & Frank! The pattern that I show is not the original; instead, this is a variant that will be easier for beginning fly tyers to tie. Once familiar with the process and steps, feel free to move onto the actual pattern, also found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMGE9FDw-X0 Thanks go out to Allen Fly Fishing for the use of the W501BL 1xl nymph hook; this is a great hook for this nymph and many more. Be sure to check out their great website: http://www.allenflyfishing.com/w501bl-wet-fly-nymph-1xl-barbless/ If looking for hen feathers to incorporate as legs and tailing in nymphs, check out Clearwater Hackle; they have a lot of great products in so many colors. Be sure to ask for Lars (the owner) and let him know I sent you. He'll find the product to match your needs. Some hen feathers can be found here: http://www.clearwaterhackle.com/jv-hens/ Thanks for viewing this YouTube fly tying tutorial; if you have any comments/questions, feel free to leave them on this page, or email me: tcammisa@gmail.com - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

74. Biot Stonefly Nymph - In this fly tying tutorial, I discuss the procedures and techniques to tie the Biot Stonefly Nymph, while also talking briefly about background information related to stoneflies. These bugs can be borderline heavenly from a fly fishing perspective, and the nymphs are especially important being that they can be fished throughout most of the year. The fly in this tutorial is a mix of a couple: Scott Sanchez's "Biot Stone" and Curtis Fry's "Twitchy Chicken Stonefly." By combining key elements of both, the Biot Stonefly Nymph is a great representation that is easy to tie and effective to fish. Featured in this fly tying tutorial are the N202 hooks by Allen Fly Fishing. These hooks have a great bend that represents the stonefly well. Please be sure to check out those hooks, and the many others they carry, at the following link: http://www.allenflyfishing.com/n202-nymph-dry-fly/ The hen hackle used in this video is from Clearwater Hackle. The piece that the feather came from is loaded with all types of feathers, being that it includes both the cape and saddle. I encourage you to check those out at the following link: http://www.clearwaterhackle.com/mature-hens/ Thanks for viewing this fly tying tutorial of the Biot Stonefly Nymph; feel free to leave comments/questions on this YouTube page, or email me: tcammisa@gmail.com - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

77. Estuary Bend-back Minnow - The Chinook Bendback is a fly style that has been popularized in saltwater and estuarine waters where anglers fish flies in shallow waters where weeds and muck could easily foul hooks on traditional patterns. The process of bending the hook is crucial because it will impact the ability to hook a fish when it takes the fly. Make sure that the hook point is above the plane of the new axis of the hook eye. Using a Mustad 3407 saltwater hook is a good idea because the hook has a great balance of toughness and retains modest pliability. I have had great success fishing this hook and think you will too if you give it a go. You will need to sharpen this hook, but you can re-sharpen it too. For more fly tying videos, check out www.OregonFlyFishingBlog.com. For fly tying materials, check out www.CaddisFlyShop.com. - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

78. RS2 - An RS2 is a must have in any anglers fly box. This mayfly emerger pattern is one of the most versatile and effective flies to fish. I am going be tying the RS2 on an Allen Fly Fishing D103S hook between the sizes of 16 through 20. This particular dry fly hook has a straight eye, 1X--long shank and thin wire. This hook is new to the Allen Fly Fishing hook line up and will soon be one of my favorites, show check them out by visiting www.allenflyfishing.com This fly can be tied in many different colors to match the hatch in your local area. Try using PMD, Brown/Olive, Black Superfine Dubbing. I generally will use the light dun microfibetts and bright white antron on all color variations. The most effective way to fish this pattern is to fish it in the surface film or slightly below it. At the end of the dead drift raise your rod tip slightly, the fly will move towards the surface imitating an emerging may fly. 79. Charlie Craven's Two Bit Hooker nymph - During this fly tying tutorial, I demonstrate the procedures to tie a slight variation of Charlie Craven's "Two Bit Hooker" nymph. This heavy mayfly nymph is intended to get to the bottom of the water column quickly, being that it is tied with two tungsten beads. The fly is a simple one to tie, and I encourage all to vary the colors and size to match the natural insects in your area. In this tutorial, I used olive thread, dubbing, and hen hackle, all to match the Blue Wing Olive (BWO) nymph. A quick change of those will allow you to match the majority of other mayfly nymphs found in our streams. Featured in this fly tying tutorial are the W501BL hooks by Allen Fly Fishing. These nymph hooks are 2x heavy and 1x long, which is perfect for this fly and many other nymphs. Check out those hooks and more here: http://www.allenflyfishing.com/w501bl-wet-fly-nymph-1xl-barbless/ Thanks for viewing this fly tying tutorial for Charlie Craven's "Two Bit Hooker" nymph.
