31. Emergence Caddis Larva - The Emergence Caddis Larva is one of my favorite caddis larva patterns to tie and fish. It closely resembles John Barr's Uncased Caddis but with a few different materials and tying techniques. I am tying this pattern on an Allen Fly Fishing N202 hook. This particular hook is a down-eye, 3X-long, standard wire, slightly humped nymph /dry fly hook. It works great for caddis and terrestrial nymph and dry fly patterns. Check them out by visiting www.allenflyfishing.com This particular caddis larva pattern is tied to imitate an uncased caddis larva beginning its emergence stage of its life-cycle. I generally fish this pattern as my first fly in a tandem nymph rigging set-up between late spring and early fall. The fly gives off a lot of UV light qualities which attracts fish. The UV Fly Finish Coating provides the fly with a lot of depth. Below is a quick reference on what size brass bead to use relative to the size hook you're tying on. Allen Fly Fishing Hook Brass or Tungsten Bead Size 12 1/9" (2.8mm) Size 14 1/10" (2.4mm) Size 16 1/10" (2.4mm) To view RK's Fly Design complete fly collection Visit www.facebook.com/RKsFlyDesign - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

32. Parachute Adams Emerger - The Parachute Adams Emerger is one of the most effective mayfly patterns that I fish. I am tying this emerger pattern on an Allen Fly Fishing N204BL hook between the sizes of 14 through 16. This particular hook is a barbless scud hook with a down-eye, 2x short shank and thin wire. This hook very sharp, super strong and has a beautiful nickel finish, so check them out by visiting www.allenflyfishing.com I fish this fly throughout the late spring and summer months when mayfly hatches are present. I generally fish this fly as a trailing fly behind a mayfly dun or attractor dry fly. This fly sits low in the surface film of the water while the foam post remains visual to the angler. Many fish key on this type of pattern because of the vulnerability of the fly during its emerging stage of its life cycle. 33. Soft Hackle Glass Emerger - The Soft Hackle Glass Emerger is a quick/ easy tie and very effective mayfly emerger pattern. I generally fish this fly within the surface film or on the swing. The iridescent glass bead gives the illusion of an air bubble of an emerging fly and the fluoro fibre wing has an excellent UV light quality. I also tie this pattern with a light cahill thread to mimic a PMD or Light Cahill, as well as an olive brown thread to mimic a Blue Winged Olive. Tie some of them up and see for yourself. The Soft Hackle Glass Emerger is tied on an AFF N304 (straight-eye, 2x - short, reversed bend hook). This is my favorite hook that Allen Fly Fishing produces. It's thin wire and perfect reversed bend makes it a superior emerger hook. Check out their full line of hooks and beads by visiting www.allenflyfishing.com. 34. RS2 - An RS2 is a must have in any anglers fly box. This mayfly emerger pattern is one of the most versatile and effective flies to fish. I am going be tying the RS2 on an Allen Fly Fishing D103S hook between the sizes of 16 through 20. This particular dry fly hook has a straight eye, 1X--long shank and thin wire. This hook is new to the Allen Fly Fishing hook line up and will soon be one of my favorites, show check them out by visiting www.allenflyfishing.com This fly can be tied in many different colors to match the hatch in your local area. Try using PMD, Brown/Olive, Black Superfine Dubbing. I generally will use the light dun microfibetts and bright white antron on all color variations. The most effective way to fish this pattern is to fish it in the surface film or slightly below it. At the end of the dead drift raise your rod tip slightly, the fly will move towards the surface imitating an emerging may fly. 35. Peacock Despair - Peacock Despair Hook: Eagle Claw 1197B #2-12 Thread: Benecchi 12/0, black Tag/rib: Nylon yarn, scarlet (the original pattern calls for scarlet floss) Body: Peacock herl Wing: Hungarian partridge breast feather - pair for #2-8, single feather for #10-12 Legs: Pheasant tail barbs, two on each side - knotted Hackle: Badger Note: Jack Sutton pattern, first tied in 1930's. 36. July Fly Fishing in NE Michigan 2013 - I know I've done this same video at least four times over the years...but as I phase out doing shorts (and fly fishing content in general...getting kind of bored of it) for one last time, a week spent up at the cabin in Michigan. I fished mainly solo and tried to take at least some type of camera with me on most trips. It's tough to shoot yourself fishing and to be honest a perfect pain in the ass...but I did what I could. It ain't going to win any awards I can promise you that... - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

37. PMD UV Super Baetis - The UV Super Baetis is one of RK's Fly Design most effective fly patterns. Super Hair is used to create a segmented body and provides excellent UV light qualities. UV Clear Fly Finish provides a durable and wet tapered look. Allen Fly Fishing N304 (2X Short, Reversed Bend, Emerger) hook is used. This particular hook is one of the best that Allen produces. It is sharp, strong and perfectly shaped. Check them out www.allenflyfishing.com The PMD version of the UV Super Baetis is fished during Pale Morning Dun and Light Cahill hatches. It can be fished either as the lead or end fly in a tandem rigging system with a strike indicator. I generally fish it as the lead fly with an emerger pattern trailing it. The tungsten bead allows the fly to sink fast for an optimal drift. At the end of the drift, I'll lift up my rod tip so the flies rise up through the water column, imitating an emerging fly.
