25. Red Quill - The Red Quill along with the Quill Gordon and Blue Quill are the first mayflies to appear in late March and Early April. The cool weather when the hatch occurs keeps them on the water longer to dry their wings. Making them more vulnerable to hungry trout. - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

26. Ultra Violet Baetis - An epoxy back mayfly nymph imitation. The flashback on this nymph is made from Hareline Dubbin's Purple Haze Holographic Fibers. An excellent nymph to imitate Baetis mayflies. Tie in sizes 16-20. I used Clear Cure Goo for the epoxy back. After experimenting with CCG I discovered that the extra fine accessory tips are a must for applying the small amounts needed for epoxy backs on small nymphs. - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

28. Soft Hackle Pheasant Tail - The Soft Hackle Pheasant Tail is my favorite fly! It can be fished on tailwater and freestone rivers. The Soft Hackle Pheasant Tail imitates a variety of insects. Most people would say that it is a Mayfly Nymph, but it also imitates a small stonefly as well. The Soft Hackle Pheasant Tail is primarily a late spring and summer fly. This is when the mayflies are most active. It can be fished in a smaller size year around, even in the winter. - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

29. Blue-Winged Olive Comparadun (BWO with Snowshoe Rabbit Feet) - In this video, I tie a simple, yet effective pattern known as the BWO Comparadun that can imitate various stages of the mayfly. The stage I tie closely resembles the dun, but can also be easily modified into the emerger or spinner stage. One of the materials used is Snowshoe Rabbit Feet for the wing, which is a material that helps to maintain a superior buoyancy with the fly. This material can also be substituted with cdc for similar results, though you may want to select a material that works best in the style water you will be fishing. Throughout this video, I suggest ways that you can tie this fly to represent your local mayflies, and offer suggestions on modifications to imitate other stages. As always, thanks for all of the views and comments on my other videos. Good luck tying this pattern, and feel free to post any questions/suggestions on this site, or email: tcammisa@gmail.com - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

30. Baetis Train - Baetis, Blue-Winged Olives, or just BWO. Whatever you call them, its more than likely they're the first mayfly to hatch in your area. Less colorful and much smaller than the mayflies that come to the party later in the season, they still provide outstanding dry-fly opportunities to fish that haven't been pressured for months on end. While fishing these Olives all over central Pennsylvania, we couldn't help but notice the rails-to-streamside correlation. It seemed everywhere there was good Baetis hatches, there was the presence of trains as well. Could it be that the men who laid the plans to these tracks just wanted to gain quick, and easy access, to the best early-season dry fly fishing? Kinda makes you wonder if they laid those steel rails, so they could fish the Blue-Wings. All aboard the Baetis Train.
