31. Scudmarine Steelhead Nymph Pattern - Learn to tie a very effective steelhead nymph pattern. It may not be well known that pink scuds catch steelhead like crazy, but it's true. I've developed this pattern over the past four years and I'm very confident in it when fly fishing for steelhead. It is easily one of my top three steelhead nymphs. It is easy to tie, looks good in your box, and catches fish. Devin Olsen from Fly Fishing Team USA turned me on to fishing pink scuds for steelhead. He is one of the world's best fly fisherman and you can check out his blog http://www.tacticalflyfisherman.com/ for more great tips. The intro of large steelhead all caught nymphing is a fun twist that I decided to add to my last few videos. Leave a comment and let us know what you think! Thanks for watching! How to Nymph for Steelhead Fly Fishing Steelhead for Beginners - Part 3 - Nymph Fishing for Steelhead http://youtu.be/-0mScynbGX0 This is Part 3 in our series, "Nymph Fishing for Steelhead". We use this technique on all sorts of rivers including the Methow, Wenatchee, Klickitat, Deschutes, John Day, Grande Ronde, and many more. It is very effective and similar to the fly fishing tactics used for trout. In this video, a Switch Rod and a Wulff Ambush Line was used. 32. Hit 'em Again Doc! - Nobody intended to make a sequel to Doc of the Drakes. It was a coincidence that Silver Creek Outfitters cameras even ended up on the water with Pete and Doc again this past summer. But the hyper-enthusiasm and sincere nature of SCO guide Pete Wood draws attention so easily. Equally engaging is Dr Robert Franklin, who at 85 had been on an incredible journey over the prior 6 months, persuading a panel of neurosurgeons to perform a rare brain stimulation procedure to treat debilitating symptoms he suffered from Parkinson's Disease. - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

34. Great Lakes Steelhead Interceptor - MATERIALS LIST IS BELOW! This is my go-to pattern for Steelhead on Great Lakes tributaries. This pattern, in this colour is responsible for most of the fish I’ve landed in the 2012/2013 season. I based this pattern off of Greg Senyo’s JawBreaker and you’ll notice that most of my flies are based off Senyo’s designs (He’s Amazing!). I fish this fly with a stinger hook that hangs just past the tail. 35. Trout in plain sight - During the past summer months of January, February and March I have been shooting a documentary about fly fishing in Chilean Patagonia and The Patagonian BaseCamp Lodge. Equipped with my camera and a couple of lenses I have been on the water with their guides and anglers for 42 days. Paco Paquerro, a well known Chilean musician, wrote music exclusively for the movie. The full documentary will be released in 3 weeks on YouTube and Vimeo. 36. And on into Spring... - I collected a lot of footage over the past month. I wanted to wait to make another video (people seem to be watching them, thanks!) until I had at least one large brown trout. I have been wading all winter, trying to get better at fishing from the banks, as fishing from a boat is just a different game. My streamer technique really improved due to this. In a last-ditch effort to get one large brown, I took my little pontoon out to try and increase my chances on a big river with lots of big fish. I went to the MO, got skunked, lost an oar stop and snapped my eight weight. I was much more upset about the skunking. I didn't let it get to me, though, and my plan for the next trip was to just enjoy myself. I had only my six weight with me, and it was quite nice to have one rod and one mindset: just catch a fish. The wind picked up as soon as I hit the Lower Madison, and the water was muddy. It took me a while to realize that the fish are still not in fast water (despite its depth) but with the mud they seemed to be perfectly happy in shallow frog water. My first strike of the day was a rod's length in front of me and a 20 inch brown to boot. Before twenty four hours were up, I had two more, each bigger than the last. The next day I sped to the Upper, was the first to hit the water and jammed a sandwich down my throat as I approached a favorite run (I was too excited to fish to cook breakfast, so I ate my lunch). I like to make a few practice casts before hitting the main run. I remember being ready: I ate my sandwich; I marveled at the clear water; I slowly crept up to within casting distance but stayed far back from the fish; I was rested and alert. One cast, two cast, three and all of a sudden a twenty-three inch brown trout is three feet in the air, looking buttery in the sun. It was all I could do to keep him out of the fast water. He had two of some fisherman's nymphs in him, which I was happy to extract--sucks to be that guy! Later that day, around five thirty, I got another one. At this point I just stopped fishing. I regret this, because those days are so rare, but I really felt like I was being greedy at the time. I went to my truck and cooked my neglected breakfast for dinner. How's that for a life lesson? (Take failure in stride, and prepare for rewarded patience and dedication). Thanks, fishing! - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

37. Vintage WOTF - Swingin' For Steel 1 - Here's a blast from the past! Nearly a decade ago we began fishing the remote Bell Irving, Nass and Damdochax rivers in Northern BC. This is a little known and very wild steelhead destination accessed and supported by a heli-skiing lodge. It was the venue for one of our first video efforts produced for television. We brought along Andy Murray, English Spey fisherman extraordinaire, in the hopes of filming this Atlantic salmon maestro catching his first steelhead. In Part 1 we dive into the angling and native sub-culture of British Columbia and get introduced to winter-conditions steelheading by outfitter Geoff Straight and our own double-hander veteran Vern Olson. - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

38. Hooke Cascapedia River! - Cascapedia, a dream come true for Fred, Jeff and Hugo. In the past years, we wanted to fish the Grande Cascapedia. This river is one of the most coveted by salmon anglers from around the world because it hosts the largest Atlantic salmon in the world. It is in the Lake branches that we had the chance to fish with David Bishop. The water was rather low and warm weather conditions were therefore not ideal, but our friend and guide David still managed to show us that we must never give up. It was around 20h15 that David hooked up on a beautiful salmon. … 39. Seeking Shelter - This is a short, one day video this past Sunday 5/18/14. I woke up with no intentions on fishing, but that changed quickly as my good friend Jason Fernandez called me up. He recently bought a Canoe and has only taken it out once. Due to the high winds we haven't been able to take it out together. We came up with the idea of fishing around noon, He got to my house and we started tying bunch of flies because we have no flies at all. We loaded up the Canoe and headed out. On the way to the Glades, I decided to call my friend Rich Jones, who is an awesome Kayak Guide in the Everglades, to see if he wanted to join us for the afternoon trip. You can check his stuff out at http://www.kayakfishingtheeverglades.com He quickly replied and decided to join us on our adventure. We knew the winds were gonna be hell but all we were looking for is some sheltered areas where can actually cast at some fish. I hope you guys like it. Enjoy. - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher
