21. Flash Bang Intruder - Fred Telleen at the Big R Fly Shop in Great Falls, MT is behind the vise tying his Flash Bang Intruder. Purple and blue are great colors for Salmon and Steelhead. Pink and Chartreuse can also be good, especially for bright fish. Adding pink and chartreuse accents to the darker materials can often trigger that extra aggressive take. MATERIALS: • Senyo's Articulated Shank 1" • 20# Maxima • Spirit River Real Eyes Plus - 3/8" Gold/Chartreuse • Daiichi 2557 Intruder Hook - Size 2 • Senyo's Laser Dub - Chartreuse/Purple • UV Polar Chenille - Pink • Krinkle Mirror Flash - Pearlescent • Purple & Blue Flashabou Music: "Bang a Gong" - TRex - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

24. Deer Hair Ant - In this fly tying tutorial, less is definitely more! Featured in this video is a deer hair ant consisting of just a couple materials. The buoyant fly is realistic, easy to tie, and most importantly, effective. I first stumbled across this pattern in George Harvey's book and believe this to be one of the best ant patterns out there. You can also turn this into a high-visibility fly by adding some fluorescent yarn to the top. As always, if you decide to revise the pattern at all, please feel free to share the results! The hook that I feature in this fly tying tutorial is the N202 from Allen Fly Fishing. This hook is intended for terrestrials and really suits this pattern. You can view this hook (and more) at the following link: http://www.allenflyfishing.com/n202-nymph-dry-fly/ Thanks for viewing this fly tying tutorial; feel free to leave any comments/questions directly on this YouTube page, or email me: tcammisa@gmail.com - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

25. Sulfur (Sulphur) Parachute Emerger - In this fly tying tutorial, I imitate the stage occurring prior to the mayfly turning into an adult, the emerger stage. Using a sulfur (sulphur) as my base pattern, I briefly discuss the qualities that make this fly an emerger, list the needed materials, and then give a fly tying tutorial of the pattern. This is a great pattern to use once you begin to see trout feeding on the surface during the beginning stages of the hatch. Featured in this tutorial is a hook by Allen Fly Fishing ( http://www.allenflyfishing.com/d102bl-dry-fly-wide-gape-barbless/ ); this is an excellent dry fly hook for this, and similar, patterns. Also featured is saddle hackle by Clearwater Hackle ( http://www.clearwaterhackle.com/saddles/ ); I encourage you to utilize this incredible hackle, which is found in a variety of colors. Thanks for viewing this fly tying tutorial; please feel free to leave any comments or questions directly on this YouTube page, or you can email me: tcammisa@gmail.com - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

26. TC's Caddis Pupa - In this fly tying tutorial, I showcase the stage prior to a caddisfly becoming an adult, the pupal stage. This fly, TC's Caddis Pupa, has various materials representing the major characteristics of a caddis pupa, and I encourage you to try others to fool trout and grayling in your area. I also feature a special method of utilizing cdc as legs, which is by incorporating the use of a dubbing loop (though I recommend this method for more intermediate tyers). Featured in this fly tying tutorial are the N205BL hooks by Allen Fly Fishing, which are a thin wire and offset. The hooks are perfect for representing both the larva and pupa stages of the caddis, plus many other insects. Feel free to view these hooks at the following link: http://www.allenflyfishing.com/n205bl-caddis-pupa-and-larva-offset-point/ Thanks for viewing this fly tying tutorial; feel free to leave any comments on this YouTube page or email me: tcammisa@gmail.com - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher

27. Extended Mayfly Body - In this fly tying tutorial, I demonstrate one (of many!) technique for creating extended mayfly bodies using deer hair. This is a great method, and reduces the amount of materials you need for certain patterns, such as the green drake, slate drake (Isonychia), and other mayflies with lengthy bodies/abdomens. When tying flies with this particular method, ensure the body thickness is appropriate to match the natural by either increasing/reducing the size of the needle or selecting a sparser/fuller amount of deer hair. With a little practice, this method is both fun and effective...basically, the best of both worlds! 30. John Anderson's Bird of Prey caddis - For this fly tying tutorial, I chose a pattern that represents a caddis pupa and emerger, John Anderson's Bird of Prey Caddis. This fly consists of just a few simple materials, but as you'll see, all of them are considered some of the best to use in fly tying. I do vary this pattern slightly from the original, but kept the most critical components to ensure its effectiveness. I recommend this pattern for intermediate fly tyers, though those at an "upper beginner" level will be able to complete this fly with a little practice. Featured in this tutorial are the N204/N204BL hooks from Allen Fly Fishing (http://www.allenflyfishing.com/n204bl-shrimp-caddis-scud-thin-wire-barbless/); I explain a reason why I like this 2x-short hook in the video.
