74. Oscar Lake outfitters - Click on the CC button in the vimeo timeline to see the subtitles. In search of action, we hit the road to Mauricie for a pike and lake trout fishing excursion. We packed the Hooké Van with big flies, steel leaders and solid rods before taking off for the Lake Oscar Outfitters. When we arrived, we met Donald Farrar. «Everything in yellow is a good spot » he told us while highlighting here and there on a map. And that’s how we ended up following a big fat yellow line along the grassy bays of the Flamand River and the deep pools of lake Oscar in search of mean pikes and voracious lake trout. Music :https://soundcloud.com/odesza/memorieshttp://streetsoflaredo.bandcamp.com/track/im-livinghttp://www.oscar-farrar.comhttp://www.pourvoiries.com Click on the CC button in the vimeo timeline to see the subtitles. 78. Hooké à Gaspé! - Finally, here is the teaser of our adventure on the Gaspé rivers! A sneak peak of our six days trip on the York, Dartmouth and Saint-Jean rivers searching for Atlantic salmon. Leaving the banks of the Bonaventure River after flipping Cime Aventure over with a film premiere and a Hooké party, Phil and Fred took the direction of Gaspé in a semi-good shape Hooké van. At their arrival, the boys started exploring the three rivers in harsh conditions. With a crazy fast river flow and a difficult season beginning on its hands, the tribe worked hard and succeeded to get some salmon on the rod. Enjoy the teaser and keep following us in the next weeks for the clips of our complete trip to Gaspé! 79. Capercaillie Sculpin - Hook: Kamasan B840 or Partridge JS11 Thread: 8/0 UniThread, white Cone: Silver conehead in the appropriate size Tails: Partridge flank feather barbs Body: Austrailian Opossom, natural Body hackles: Partridge flank feather Front hackle: Capercaillie body feather One of my goto patterns for seatrout on the coasts and bays of Djursland, Denmark. Very easy fly to tie, that fishes well all year around. If you tie the fly to the tippet with a small rapala loop, the fly has an awesome motion in the water. Looks almost like a small sculpin. You can tie them in any size you'd like, but I prefer them large - large as in size 2 or larger. The best hooks for this kind of fly, in my opinion, are the hooks with a large hook gape. I find the TMC 811S and Mustad 34007 to have too small of a hook gape for this kind of pattern. I only used the capercaillie to make a fly that sticks out, and to the best of my knowledge, I don't think there's a saltwater pattern for seatrout that uses these feathers. You can use whatever front hackle you'd like or have available. - fly fishing video channel - Global FlyFisher
