J-Vise meets Bug-Bond meets Welded Wide Body meets Dual Tube Phly...
'genetic engineering and/or crimes against nature...

J-Vise Tube Fly Conversion...
Bill's Bodi Braid for the pearl phoundation...

Dual Tube Phly... wrapped and welded...
top tube gets all dressed up... bottom junction tube holds the hook [lower CG and closer to the head]...

phly welding...

when done welding on pheatherz n' phlash, back to conventional jaws...
hook is secured by the junction tube and then, on to project eyez n' head...
below is the finished Dual Tube Phly with a typically undressed hook held in place by the lower junction tube...

Welded Wide Body Tunnel Hull...

Welded Wide Body... rudely stuffed into the buttt of the Dual Tube Phly junction tube to achieve a much more Rubenesque body...

just playin' around with some ideaz...

Pete,

As always a great fly construction from your hands! And excellent picture to show the method.

The Dual tube system is ingenious, and perfect for really large flies like large saltwater flies or pike flies. I have tied a few myself and been pretty pleased with the result even though none have been nearly as elegant as yours.

Martin

Martin...
'Always a pleasure... Thanks for the kind words!
a question...
If I was to attend one [1] Fly Fishing / Tying Show "Over There"... which one would you recommend?!
Regardz
Peeete

Same ol' shirt... Different pantz...
I find the tubular inter-change-ability to be curiously entertaining...

NOT one to leave well enough alone...

My admittedly blasphemous phly welding option simply opens up curious possibilities and is NOT meant to offend any "purists" out there...
'besides that... re: tubez...
A phrequently overlooked benefit of the Tube Fly option is the ability to quickly alter the appearance by changing colours, textures, and personalities...
Here, again, is the basic white Dual Tube

'Peacock was welded in to better define the prophile silohouette ...
and then...
examples of the 'same old shirt, different pants options afforded by tubular inter-change-ability endeavors...

Curious POSSIBILITIES!?

Pete,

More goodies from your vices (and I know you have several!).

I fooled around with some Bug-Bond the other day (light curing stuff), and man! That's gonna revive my epoxy craze from years back! So easy to use, no waste and great results.

I'm definitely gonna weld some flies and try that technique one of these days. I just have to order more of the stuff since I'm using it faster than I expected.

Regarding fly shows there are essentially two large ones: Fly Fair in the Netherlands and the Danish Fly Festival here in Denmark. The Brits also have some shows, but none are as large or fly fishing exclusively as far as I know. The two shows alternate. Next year will be in the Netherlands (Hopefully. I haven't seen it announced yet) and the year after that in Denmark.
