| Good looking patterns. I like the contrast between the squirrel and claret.

Thanks. It is actually one of Norewgian Erling Olsen's patterns.

| I think I'm going to have to try the bottom variation for Bull Trout here in BC. Are you using squirrel for the throat as well?

Grant, the original Erling Olsen pattern called for black hackle. I used Whiting Brahma Hen - I like the speckled look.

Well, I don't have any of that, so I'll have to sub natural guinea fowl instead I guess. Should work fine.......

Ok, here it is:
I didn't have Siberian Squirrel so I used the only squirrel I had, Red Fox Squirrel Tail. The white tips of the red fox shouldn't detract from the pattern I don't think. We use it for a lot of streamer patterns here.

Chris,
Just had to let you know that I tried your pattern for the first time today and did get one wicked hit on it. Only fished it for maybe 5 minuets and then a thunderstorm moved in and we decided to get the heck off the lake. I will be trying it next time out and hopefully will have a few fishy pictures to share.

Grant - way to go! I've done well with it myself, but I have to tell you - it's not my pattern. Got it from Erling Olsen of Norway:
http://www.flyshop.no/flysel/erlingo/erlintroe.htm
He has some nice original patterns and adaptations of classics.
