Hi everyone,
I have been searching the forum for recent posts on this item but couldn't find it. Sorry if this is again a question which already has been answered.
I was wondering who can tell me what a good generic seatrout gear would be. I mean; rod (size and #), fly line, reel, leader and tippet material?
I will be most likely be fishing at Fyn.
Personnaly i have been using a Sage RPLXi road #6 for the last years. I like this rod because it is a little bit a stiff rod. You need that to play the fish and to cast when you have a strong wind. I mostly use floating lines or intermediate, depending on how deep I want to fish (can als be controlled by the weight of your fly). My leader is about 6 ft of .50 and next 6 ft of .25/.20.
A for reels I used a Dragonfly (lots of plastic so no rust problems). Most importance is cleaning (directly after use in Saltwater). Cleaning and greasing.
