I've noticed that Pike flies are quite similar to the flies we use here for Peacock Bass: Large, bright colors, etc.

This one is a kind o variation of a Wooly Bugger tyed on a heavy 3/0 saltwater hook.

Hi, my most favourite pike fly is certainly Red Head streamer from furabou and pearl hair.This fly caught a lot of pikes during my flyfishing trip to Sweden. Also successful in Czech republic. Used mostly with intermediate line. But when wet, the fly is quite heavy so proper rod should be used. The second possibility is to replace furabou by some syntetic material.
The best pike hook I have ever used is Kamasan B940

Big enricos yellow perch, matuka sculpin and diver flies dominate my box. I like natural baitfish colors most of the time because the pike i fish for can be pretty color selective(if you can believe that). i also always carry around a large supply of those salmon bunny leech flies, big pike and bass love em!

Absolute synthetics materials all steamers. But very good streamer material: the bucktail.

sinthetics are best for toothy critters. just curious, are those cupped plastic or action disc heads difficult to cast in a stiff breeze?

I don't have problem with using of magic head in casting. Nothing. If strong water on fishing the head is back, beacuse very shake the tail.

I know I sound like a minimalist from the Andy Warhol days but my most effective Esox fly, as well as my most effective Barracuda fly, has always been a silver tinsel covered medium to long shank streamer hook with the appropriate length yellow maribou wing tied on at the head. No tail or eyes or anything else. It is all a waste to me because after a few fish all you have left is a nicely shredded fly with a hook to recycle back to the vise. I will sometimes throw in a bit of red maribou. That is about as fancy as I need. Strip it fast or put the rod under your arm and do a hand over hand and make sure your hook is needle sharp.
