New prefabricated materials

Canadian Silver Tip Fly Company has launched a long row of prefabricated winging and body materials

Feb 7th 2013/mj

Canadian mayfly and stonefly wings

A new Canadian company is introducing a whole row of new prefabricated materials along the same lines that we have seen many times during the last couple of years, namely fly parts printed on film and cut out, ready to be used on your flies.

Owner/Inventor/Designer/Producer Brent Onofrychuk tells:
- All products are designed straight from the actual insect. The wing products are translucent allowing for light to pass through the wing and the vein definition is present on both sides. The wings are all sized and pre-cut, all the tier does is peal and tie.

You will find the “traditional” wing styles in the product lineup: wings for mayflies, stoneflies, caddis, hoppers and salmon flies. Each is available in several sizes and colors.
On top of that Silver Tip Fly has also launched stonefly bodies, beetle bodies and minnow cheeks.

There's a brand new web site showing the different materials, but only scarce information on package sizes, prices and availability, but we will follow the development and keep you informed.
