Bon Aventure Flies
One man in two days. What does that give you? Limited experience and but some experience, photos and stories to give you a feeling and imagination of what to tie and bring.
A classic. See the one with eyes and epoxy - add-ons done by the experienced salmon angler Nils Jorgensen here.
The one I used was ties the Icelandic way with a dark yellow underwing on a ½" tube.

A fly tied by Ken Bonde Larsen. Made in light and discrete nuances suited for clear and cold water.
A small black fly should always be a part of any fly collection, and should not miss in a salmon fly box.
The Dirty White
A Grey and Green variant tied by Ken Bonde Larsen a cold autumn day while dreaming of salmon adventures in northern Canada.
It is meant for clear, greenish water where the salmon stick to green, white, silver combinations but haven't seen many Scandinavian tubes.
Very good... well, that's what the name means, and this fly should be very good for the clear water. Another tube fly with light and discrete materials.
Everyone talked about the Green Machine. I did not know the fly before I landed in Gaspé. It is a beautiful green gem typically tied low water style. The green body appeals to the jade toned water.
Jean Guy Côte's beautiful fly for cold water salmonids.
Branchu is the Québecois word for wood duck, and a very suitable name for this fly with its characteristic wood duck wing. It will work when the water is slightly colored and the sun is shining. Martin Jorgensen made some adjustments a few years ago.
That was some of our suggestions. Other flies worth trying could be:
Silver & Silver
Black & Silver
Grey & Green
Grey & Silver
Francis, red colors
Hook size depends greatly on water level, however sizes 4 to 12 are recommended.
These were some suggestions. I am not sure, what flies the fly fishers below used when they caught their fish. They probably tied some the flies after getting some inspiration - maybe from Global FlyFisher. Hope you got inspired and are off to your tying station.
