I caught my first Atlantic salmon last week. And the second, and the third and probably also the 15th
I was lucky anough to be able to go to Iceland last week. I consider it lucky because it's not a cheap place to go, so I can't go nearly as often as I would like to, and also because the fishing up there is exquisite.
Together with my good friend Nils I was targeting salmon in the two Rangá's in the southern part of the island and brownies in the same area.
Unfortunately the wether was horrid. After a couple of months of sun and dry wheather - and perfect fishing conditions - the rain decided to start falling on the night of our arrival. And it kept on raining on and off during the week of our stay. And rubbing salt in the wound, the wind blew strongly most of the week.
But anyhow... we had a nice time, met some really nice people - the two river keepers Johannes and Einar amongst them - and managed to land quite a few salmon too, so who am I to complain?
I will probably return to this fishing and my experiences later, but until then enjoy a few images:
