Brasshawk Carp Fly

The Brasshawk #carp fly pattern was designed by Texas tyer and guide Danny Scarborough. This fly is great for targeting carp in the shallows, 1-4 ft. I added a little extra weight behind the eyes with a couple strips of lead, but you could also make this fly heavier with lead or brass barbell eyes.

I used a Talon TA-8346 egg hook, but any egg hook with a straight short shank should work for the pattern. Orvis 76AR or Daiichi 2571 will get you a good fly.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
