Grunter (Variant)

This fly was originally tied by Grant Luke from Scotland, the fly was tied back to front so the partridge hackle was tied first behind the eye followed by two ginger cock hackles, four cdc plumes pushed over the hackles towards the eye and the body was then dubbed in from behind the hackle to the bend of the hook in a carrot shape and whip finished at the hook bend with a drop of varnish to finish this allowed the body to sit below the surface. The fly was named after me by a friend as it was a joke as I was a grunter rather than a talker. The fly went on to have great success on many rivers and the Lake of Menteith in Scotland...

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
