Egg Sucking Ice Tiger
This pattern comes from a client request. It is similar to a steelhead Egg Sucking zonker leach. you can tie this pattern on a standard hook, but I have a good supply of saltwater hooks that I didn't really like, but they have a good shank length for this purpose. I use a side cutter to clip off the hook.
If you don't have a tube vise, you can just use the regular vise jaws, but just be careful not to put too much pressure on the hook.

Long story longer
The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
