Big Hole Demon

Twoface: A classical pattern originated back in the sixties - here adapted for Scandinavian sea trout fishing, but probably also useful for bass and other species as well as the brownies it was originally tied for. The fly is fairly easy to tie and we have made it even simpler.

Probably my best fly on this river. I tie them in black (hellgrammite or leech), brown (crayfish), and gray, usually weighted with lead wire or a bead or two. I like to use a rabbit strip as a tail for slower water. I think a Grey, Black or Copper Frede would translate very well here.

ron P. swegman has taken up fly fishing again, fishing a plain 5 weight rod, riding his mountain bike to the water, wading deep rocky pools in hip boots and not least: fishing a lowly city stream with the downtown skyline of a large metropolis in the background. He has written a book about it.

Trout and Fly

This is not a book you give to your rookie nephew who just took up fishing. If you're a pragmatic type of angler you might also find it a bit too much. But if you really want to learn about trout fishing, this is a book definitely worth reading.
