F-fly

Marjan Fratnik born 1919 in a small Slovenian village close to the Soca River came up with an extremely simple and effective fly using cdc. Its durable, easy, floats as foam and can be tied in small sizes, really small.

Hook Dry fly size 10-26
Thread 10/0 color to match natural
Body Colored spiderweb
Wing 1-3 CDC feathers

Tying instructions

Cover the shank with thread.

Rib the body with tying thread.

Match together 1-3 CDC feathers depending on the hook size.

Tie in the feathers just behind the hook eye on top of the shank.

Cut of the excess.

Make a nice, small head and whip-finish

Trim the CDC feathers.

1000 garfish

A trip to the Danish coast in May means garfish. This particular day was quite windy but sunny and nice most of the time. Perfect weather for garfish. It started off as an orgy with so many fish that we lost count, but slowed down later on.
