Ernesto,

No one prohibits an artificially mounted sky, and if Paquito's friends want to vot for him, they are welcome. Each man has one vote, and unless that is misused, you can get your friends to vote the most crappy image a winner. It's not in the spirit of this service, but can be done. We can intervene if the voting gets too crazy - and we do.

This photo isn't a natural photo!!! the sky is artificialy mounted!!! The people that vote Paquito's photos are friends of him!!!!

Hen Hackles and Wet Flies

Awhile back, I received a shipment of hen necks and saddles from Whiting Farms. The saddles struck me with their intense colors and solid web, then necks with their stem length and shortish barbs. These feathers were perfect for the wet flies I was working on.

A Backyard in Nowhere Q&A

The DVD "A Backyard in Nowhere" is something else. Fly fishing, sure, but also a different experience traveling, fishing, hunting and meeting people by the Innoko River system in Alaska. The team behind the video is Danish, and it was quite natural to grab a hold of them and get them to talk a bit about the background for the whole project.

The Dirty White

We continue our series of tube flies tied in the Scandinavian style. This fly is another subdued yellow, white and gray fly, well suited for bright light and clear water. It uses a mallard hackle to create a nice, closed shape.
