NZ trout have large fins and eyes and are generally caught on very small #16 & #18 sized flies.

This brown trout has put on a lot of weight but still has very worn fins as a result of the spawning run.

Hooked up on a large Dobson River trout. The Sage is slowly winning the battle.

Brown trout fished in the remote Relem river in Patagonia, Argentina. About 6 pounds weight. The rod was a 9' Hardy # 6 with floating line and a black rabbit fly. For me this picture is important because it reminds me about the aggresive attack to the fly and then a tremendous fight in this little river.

This 24 inch, 7lb plus brownie was taken on a tiny Parachute Adams. The 'Take' was poetry in motion. Angler & spectators had a perfect view from the high bank.
