The Road to Wingless Wets

On a shelf in the shop was a little book that was propped open. It was Leisenring and Hidy's The Art of Tying The Wet-Fly and Fishing The Flymph. Inside, I found a treasure of patterns and some fishing instructions and I suddenly switched gears and began fishing these great little flies.

Catch and release

Martin spends some time - almost an hour, actually, and he excuses that - talking about killing fish, releasing fish, fishing ethics, spawning fish, endangered fish, escaped hatchery fish and many other aspects of fishing to eat and fishing to release.

Bass

With trailers available nearly a year before the film was available for purchase, BASS: THE MOVIE was indeed one of the most hyped fishing films in recent times. Jamie Howard of made this movie in recognition of anglers' love for the largemouth bass. Given the success of Howard's previous films, anticipation was running high and many advance purchases of the DVD were made.

The Messy Pike Fly

Not one of Martin Joergensen's usual pike flies. For that it is way too complex and has too many tying steps and too many different materials. He doesn't like complex pike flies. "I spend dozens of minutes tying one, and a pike spends seconds shredding it!" he says.
