This fly is called the "Puff Fly." It is built on a size 12 bait hook. The tail is a small white feather taken from underneath of the wing of the Mallard Duck. The thread is black 6/0. The over wing is a grey Guinea feather that acts like Marabou but has white spots at the end of each fiber. I used a medium gold bead and 15 turns of .015 lead wire from the front of the hook turning backwards.

These two flies are my "Rocket Streamers." The one on the left is built on a tube and the one on the right is built on a hook. The tube fly is built as a "step down" from a medium size rigid tube to a micro tube for the head of the fly. The materials used are: orange rooster hackle for the body wing; mallard grizzly feathers for the underwing; black rooster hackle for the over wing and jungle cock eyes for the side wings. Thread was black ultra thread.

Tail wings come from the Whiting Farm's 4 B Rooster Cape color variant. The wings are from the Mallard duck. I used red 1/4" holographic eyes and finished the head with Loons UV thin head cement.

I call this the "Chief's Bonnet" hook fly. I used a size 4 bait fish hook with the barbs mashed down. Lead weight was added to the shank using .030 lead wire. The feathers were from the Golden Pheasant skin. I used the yellow, red and blue/gray feathers. The head was finished with 1/4" red holographic eyes and Loon's thin UV head cement.

Here is my classic "Dragonfly" built on a dry fly size 12 J Stockard 430 Multi-Purpose Curved hook. The segmented body is made of light olive 2 mm foam. All parts of the fly was built on my Nor-Vise rotary vise. I used the "tube" adaptor to build the extended body and then switched to the regular vise adaptor to complete the fly. You can view the fly tying video on You Tube by going to Richard Katzman Fly Tying channel and search for "Dragonfly" instructional video to see how it's tied.

This hook fly is called the "Angel Mirage" built on a size 12 dry hook from J Stockard Fly Fishing Supplies. The name of the hook is a 430 multi curved hook. As this fly swims in the water it gives the impression of an Angel. Search my "You Tube" channel, Richard Katzman Fly Tying for the Angel Mirage fly. There is also a swim test video of this fly.
