Dawn at Keystone Landing I needed to create a photo that could be used to reflect the long history of this particular fishery. This is my favorite camping spot because of the ease of access to the river and its a nice wade.

I was stripping small streamers in September on the "Holy Waters" section of the Au Sable. This little 13.5" beauty was as pretty as the day. All in fall colors. The photo was taken with a Pentax Optio W60, underwater. The fish was released, never leaving the water, right after the shot.

A jigging fly for almost any predatory fish originated by Bob Popvics. After a trip to Danish island Bornholm in 2007 Kasper Mühlbach wanted to tie and try this successful pattern and ordered a special color. But someone else came first and bought his custom dyed bucktail.

Hen Hackles and Wet Flies

Awhile back, I received a shipment of hen necks and saddles from Whiting Farms. The saddles struck me with their intense colors and solid web, then necks with their stem length and shortish barbs. These feathers were perfect for the wet flies I was working on.
