Fishy art: Thomas Weiergang

Thomas is known from the Danish magazine Sportsfiskeren. At a recent editorial meeting, Thomas brought a bunch of framed reproductions of his drawings, and GFF partner Martin Joergensen immediately grabbed him and lured him into participating in our Fishy Art series.

My time on the Mountain

Gaining 2,500 feet in altitude and hiking over 28 miles wasn't the tough part of this trip of a lifetime for first time GFF author Shane Murphy. It was resisting the temptation to fish every inch of the abundance of trout-filled water in the 4 days he spent in the Colorado backcountry. Cheap Lazy Bastard

Named the Cheap Lazy Bastard because the originator, Joe Kissane, uses cheap materials whenever possible, takes shortcuts (because he's lazy) and the fly is a bastard - the original pattern mated illicitly with the body of any number of famous nymphs.

The Lost World of Mr. Hardy

Anybody who's into fly fishing will know Hardy. If you haven't heard about this famous British company, you must have grown up on a different planet - as a fly fisher, that is. This fantastic DVD entitled "The Lost World of Mr. Hardy" makes sure this world and its story is not lost.
