Book: First impression
A really beautiful little book about insects, flies and flowers, At first glance it reminds me a lot of the books from my biology and botany studies at the University of Copenhagen, but with a very distinct poetic and aesthetic style in layout and illustrations.

Streams of Dreams
Fly Fishing Around the World

Book: First impression
A book about fishing destinations, mainly streams, all over the world with nice pictures. I read the short chapter on Denmark with a slight smirk on my face. Not much in-depth information, but a recommendation of one of my flies! A recommendation I'm almost sure must come from GFF...

Trout at Ten Thousand Feet
Reflections of a Passionate Fisherman

By John Bailey

Book: First impression
This book starts with the lines: "If you're even thinking of embarking on the life of a traveller - an angling traveller or not makes not a jot of difference - there are plenty of things to get straight in your head." and tells about the travels and fishing experiences of the author in a humorous way, easy to read and illustrated with nice little B/W vignettes.

Trout Hunting
The Pursuit of Happiness

By Bob Wyatt

Book: First impression
This is a book that gets better every time I pick it up. Some of the photos inside reflect the dawn of the digital camera (i.e. a little noisy), but buy the book for the text, not the pretty pictures.

Published by Stackpole Books 2005

Trout of the World

By James Prosek

Book: First impression
A stunningly beautiful and fascinating book in spite of its extremely simple concept: paint a picture of each of as many trout species and variations as possible. Simple images: a fish flat on its side on white background. But Prosek's fabulous style and the sheer number and variations is enough to spellbind.

Ultimate Fishing Adventures
100 Extraordinary Fishing Experiences Around the World

By Henry Gibley

Book: First impression
Henry Gibley is an angler and photographer who has been around - literally! This is most likely just a selection of the places he has fished in his career, and the 100 selected spots are indeed very tempting and appetizing. Covering 100 places on 208 pages means exactly 2 pages per location, and that also means that the book suffers from the usual "nn-spots-you-should-fish-disease". The information is sufficient to stir your interest but not enough to really inform you. Still a very nice book with some excellent photos.

Bob,

The new tube fly book is awesome! Very inspiring. I have spent the last few days reading through it and will fire off a review ASAP. A few other books are in the queue before yours, but it will come eventually.

Hi,

So where can one get a copy of Ad Swier's book? I looked on amazon.com and amazon.co.uk and couldn't find it. Googling it didn't turn up much either.

Best regards,
Chris.

Eddie,

You have probably come to the wrong place... we only deal with fly fishing and not with floats, bait and spin fishing.

I would recomment that you found yourself a beginner's book on the subject - like the "dummies" series found from many publishers.

We do have beginner's articles, but only for fly fishing.

Martin
