Fishing calendar
Author: Alexander Schwab
Reviewed by Martin Joergensen Do you need a last minute Christmas gift idea for an angler? Well, Merlin's Daily Fishing Calendar could be a very good suggestion for such a gift.
It's a beautiful little desk calendar with one page for each day, each with a photo and a quote plus of course information about the day.
The author and editor Alexander Schwab has gathered an amusing and educating collection of facts and fishing wisdom, which will entertain you every day when you tear off a page.
The pictures are a very nice and varying selection of fishing situations, people, tackle and lots of other angling related subjects. They are not of fly-fishing only, but also of coarse fishing, spinning lures, reels, various fishing items and just plain beautiful land- and waterscapes.
The quality is not perfect because the pictures are printed on fairly rough paper, but that can actually be considered a quality in itself, and certainly lends a particular style to the calendar.
The thick cover and the durable and beautifully printed gift box plus the lace that ties the covers together underscore the feeling of a luxurious product and a perfectly tasteful gift.
Few anglers would complain if Santa put this under the tree for them.
