Table with all books
The Fly Fisher
A large and beautiful book about the concept of fly fishing covering the subject from many angles, lavishly illustrated with amazing photos.
Farlows Salmon Flies
This book is pretty exotic and definitely not for the average fly tyer. But if you are interested in classic salmon flies and their history, it's a book you must have on your shelves.
Fleye Design
Bob Popovics can rightfully be called one of the most innovative fly tyers today. And he keeps on sharing new methods in his latest book.
Haynes Fly Fishing Manual
The publisher Haynes is probably best known for their car repair manuals, but also has instruction manuals for many other things, fly fishing included
The Lost Salmon Flies of Balmoral
If you are into classic salmon flies - like the real classics - and like to divulge in their history and origin, this is a book for you.
GT
Wow! I just have to say wow! GT's are just... wow... and this book is like… wow!
Fly-casting Finesse
I'm not a big fan of learning to cast from a book, but there's little doubt that this book can actually make you a better fly caster. And it features a remote controlled dry training shark!
Observation
This is a great book, and a really excellent intro to reading the water and matching the hatch for the angler who feels that both these disciplines are difficult. It clearly illustrates that they don't have to be.
Perrault's Standard
This might not look like the most exciting book I own. It isn't valuable. It isn't particularly beautiful either – rather ugly actually. Still it's one of the gems in my collection.
Crooked Lines
Some fishing books teaches you stuff, some fascinate you, some entertain you. Some do all and more
Simple Flies
A book that has Hans Weilenmann's CDC&Elk on the cover has to have something good inside. And this book has.
Wild Steelhead
I brought home 4 lbs of beautiful wild steelhead the last time I was in the US. Not a fish of course, but a couple of impressing books.
