Mc. Mullet
The Mc. Mullet is a saltwater fly pattern that I created in efforts to mimic mullet in the gulf. Its not a difficult fly to tie, and can be tied rather quickly once you get the hang of it. Its great for redfish, seatrout (specks), and even tarpon (if tied with a beefier hook).
Fiber Used:
Super Fiber in Dark Brown & Caddis Tan (EP fiber works as well with similar colors)
Hook used:
Gamakatsu SC15 in size 1/0
Epoxy:
Solarez "thin hard"
Eyes used:
Gold 3D eyes in size 6MM

Long story longer
The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.

This is similar to many other mullet and baitfish patterns, but with a few slight differences, let me know whatcha think of it. Tell me what you would do different?

Do you ever add weight to these in choppy water or high wind?
Yep, just wrap it with some
Yep, just wrap it with some lead wire. Or just fish it with a intermediate line. It will get it below the swells. That is if you don't want the jigging action a lead wrap could add.
