This is somewhat a novelty to me although it's been out for quite a while now: A fly fishing video magazine. But as you can see from the title, this is number 4 in a series, so it might not be that novel to other people.

The idea is the same as in a magazine: several "articles" - in this case video sections - covering different subjects and compromising a nice varied whole that you can browse and leisure, gulp down in one large bite or skip and jump through dwelling on some parts and quickly skipping over others. Although I doubt that you will do much skipping here, because all the sections are worth watching, and the running time of slightly over an hour is not a minute too much.

We are taken through some steelhead fishing, Californian backcountry fishing, bass fishing and several other subjects covering practical fishing, adventure as well as tips for rigging. Just like a magazine there's something for every taste and even though it might not all be relevant for your prime type of fishing, it's great to watch.

The video quality is excellent and the production on par with the best. I'm personally a bit fed up with stop motion clouds and sped up sequences, but that's my personal taste. These effects are used so often in fishing videos that you just have to cope with them. Other people might not find them as bland as I do.
The rest is really nice, though. Lots of action, beautiful landscapes, boat fishing, underwater footage and all we have come to expect from modern fly fishing videos. Add to that a nice soundtrack and you have all you can ask for the modest 25 US$ that the DVD costs. You can even buy the "backissues" for 20 bucks a piece, which must be considered a steal.
