Sven Ostermann

FFF casting instructor

By Martin Joergensen

Sven Ostermann at the Danish Fly Festival where he certified as a casting instructor

German Sven Ostermann is one of a very few FFF-Certified Flycasting Instructors in Europe. This designates him a very fine fly caster and instructor.

It is therefor natural that his first article on this web site explains how to cure the three most common casting errors.

You can also find one of Sven's patterns: The Real Deerhair.

Sven can be contacted via e-mail on the address SvenOstermann@compuserve.com

Shark's Caddis Larva

This is a very simple fly imitating the caddis larva. Some may call it realistic fly, some will say impressionistic, but no matter what, the originator says with 100% certainty that it\'s a killer pattern and he has caught lots of fish with it in many different places.

Behind Private Doors

It's for the trade only. Joe Q. Public can't get in. Before any trade magazine, before any other internet webzine... let GFF be THE FIRST take you on an EXCLUSIVE tour of this invite-only show. See who hobnobbed at the show and

G-String Eyes

If you play guitar and tie flies...you are wasting some valuable tying material every time you change your strings. Old guitar strings have something to make flies land softly on the water and jig just enough to tease fish into striking. Learn from GFF partner Steve Schweitzer what to keep from old strings and how to tie
