Start trimming the top and bottom from the front of the fly. Then trim the sides and then rotate the fly while rounding it more and more - still from the front. If your vise doesn't rotate, hold the fly in the hand while doing this. (picture) - Trimming - Trimming - Global FlyFisher

Trimming
