Quick tip: Walking thru bushed up sections
Picking the brains of the GFF staff
Become a better flyfisher
Walking thru bushed up sections When walking thru bushed up areas your leader/tippet and sometimes your fly fline section will get hooked up on a lot of branches etc. If your fly is hooked in the hook keeper or one of your guides, take the leader/tippet section, wrap a couple of times around your rod and hook behind one of your guides.
Your leader/tippet have wrapped the fly line thight agains the rod and in doing so, have eliminated the loose piece of leader/tippet from the tip top eye to the hook keeper. Now it will be much easier to walk crawl thru bushed up sections.Korrie Broos

Imagine a fish that takes a fly as readily as a trout, whether it is nymph, a wet fly, or a dry fly. Czech nymph style, wet fly swing, North Country style or upstream dry fly. Now magine that, pound for pound, at least twice as strong as a trout
The smallmouth bass is the headliner of small coolwater venues and that fact is understandable. Micropterus dolomieui bends fly rods and performs top water acrobatics throughout the course of the fishing season, even during the hottest dog days, as long as the human on the other end of the line knows his or her art and craft.
