General Practitioner is a great Neries Worm Fly

To say that the GP looks like a shrimp, or more like a shrimp than a worm is irrelevant. It is similar enough to either creature's profile and size to imitate either. The GPs strength is the great movement natural materials offer, for example, golden pheasant feathers.
A predatory fish only really sees the underbody of neries worms as they drift out in the surface. Same goes for what the fish sees iin the imitation. Look at a general practitioner from below and it looks very much like a neries worm.
As you may know in the NE of the USA we have some great neries worm swarms around each moon tide throughout spring and summer and striped bass (and hickory shad) go wild over them.
