Freaks of Nature

Trailer: Lago Strobel, aka Jurassic Lake, has earned a reputation as the best place on earth to catch a trophy rainbow trout. Ten pound fish are common and twenty pound plus trout are caught every week.

But there is a common misconception that the fishing is one dimensional, in this film we explore the true extent of the fishery; sight fishing dry flies to huge lake cruisers just a few feet from the shore, exploring the lake's only tributary the Rio Barrancoso which is stacked full of giant fish and uncovering another small creek system, Moro Creek, which is also home to thumping rainbow trout.

Backcountry - North Island Official Trailer

The backcountry of New Zealand holds a special place in the heart of all Kiwis. “Going bush” is a national past time, and Kiwi fly fishers like nothing better than the sun on their backpack, the cold touch of a mountain stream and the opportunity to sight fishing to giant trout in pristine settings.

The film follows six fly fishermen, from different places and different walks of life, as they each explore a treasured corner of the North Island. This land of active volcanoes, rugged gorges and dense forests provides an epic backdrop for some of the best trout fishing on the planet. As each story weaves into the fabric of the film it becomes evident that, despite their differences, the characters are all bound together by their passion for the backcountry.

Backcountry – North Island is Gin-Clear Media's 7th fly fishing feature film.

Predator - new teaser

A new teaser for Predator. Annual Drake Fly Fishing Video Awards 2012 "Best Movie". Produced by Gin-Clear Media. Narrated by Greg French.

Gin-Clear Media's PREDATOR is the follow-up to the highly acclaimed HATCH. Fly fishermen have always lusted after big fish, those large predators that dominate the rivers, lakes and oceans in which they preside. PREDATOR explores the globe for the largest and most powerful fish that can be taken with a fly rod. These large predators employ all sorts of techniques to maximise their chance of catching prey. Some, like the queenfish, use pure speed to outrun and crush their prey in the surface film. Pike lay in ambush, ready to explode on their prey in the chalkstreams of England. Others, like the mighty barramundi of Australia's North, use brute power to get a feed. Regardless of the species, a film about fishing for the world's greatest predators is guaranteed to be a visual extravaganza.
