Those ole Wyoming Cowboys don't care much for us Greenies. But, bachelor parties gonna bachelor party. A group of Coloradans headed north and posted up on some prime runs on the North Platte. Eight dudes. Three dogs. Two boats. Fish were caught. Drinks were drank. Good times were good timed.
The Beaten Path
We took the beaten path this winter. When it comes to fly fishing in Colorado in the winter, there are plenty of waters with walkways lined with guard-rails, bent grass paths, paved parking lots, and pet fish to find. Waters that everyone knows. Waters that everyone fishes. This is The Beaten Path.
GoPro's greatest weakness is their ability to capture footage in low light. I gave it a shot while throwing some oversized rodent patterns at some of the South Platte's finest. Enjoy. GLASS IS NOT DEAD. Went after some Colorado carp with a Kabuto 805 fiberglass fly rod courtesy of The Fiberglass Manifesto's Rod Loan Program. If you haven't fished glass before, try it. Cielo Grande. Large Air. Big Sky. After almost a year away from Montana's waters, I took a whirlwind tour of some new waters and old favorites. It felt good to be back in the land of big water and wild trout. 40 MPH And Rising
Not all days are great. Conditions aren't always perfect. Sometimes it's windy. This was one of those days in South Park on the Dream Stream. Like YGF at facebook.com/yukongoesfishing Follow YGF at instagram.com/yukongoesfishing Visit YGF at yukongoesfishing.com
22 Inches Short
Russ Schnitzer (of Schnitzerphoto.com) and I were "22 INCHES SHORT" of making a normal YGF video. Instead, I lost a nice 22" rainbow trout because of my poor angling skillz and size 22 hooks. So, I made this awkward 80s VHS themed music video of a short. Enjoy!?!??? http://yukongoesfishing.com like YGF on http://facebook.com/yukongoesfishing
Don't Ask Me Where I've Been
You know that saying that doesn't exist "One man's scraps is another man's scraps." This is a video of one man's scraps. I have taken video throughout many of my year's adventures on the water. Action from February through November. From Montana to Colorado. Like YGF on www.facebook.com/yukongoesfishing
What Can Browns Do For You?
A weekend's worth of fishing on the Big Hole. My favorite place on earth. Browns. Streamers. Burgers. Silver and Gold
What does Yukon Cornelius love? Silver and Gold. Silver and Gold. What does YGF like? Silver and Gold. Well, more like Rainbows and Browns. Close enough. A video filled with bumbles, abominable snowmen, miners, reindeer, brown trout, and rainbow trout. Consider this the pinnacle of the concept of YGF. It can only go downhill from here. Music: The Glitch Mob "We Can Make the World Stop"
Trout of 2011
The trout of 2011.... that I decided to take video of. Fly fishing in western, southwestern, and central Montana. Includes a 23" brown, 25" brown, 27" brown, and 28" rainbow. It was a good angling year.
A foggy morning on the bitterroot turned into a tough day of fishing. No epic streamer fishing was to be had. Two streamer takes all day. A 17-18" brown was angry and/or hungry enough to take an original and a 20" rainbow wanted to become internet famous until it threw the streamer hooks. When 2:30 rolled around the BWOs started hatching and some fish were caught up top. music: yael naim "toxic" yukongoesfishing.blogspot.com
The Trifecta of favorite SW Montana waters: The Big Hole, the Beaverhead, and the Slough. It was sunny all weekend. Sun can make for some tougher fishing conditions for browns. We were able to manage some nice browns on streamers, dries, and nymphs.
A steelhead sized rainbow trout was caught somewhere in SW Montana. This is that 28" trout. Music: Little People "Inutile et Indispensable"
