Pink Panther

Here we will be tying a fly by myself that got the name Pink Panther. The fly I tied around 1999-2000 so it's a millennium Hommi. The fly is a great option for both stream and lake fishing. The name of the fly is because of it's hot pink colour and often bright colours tend to work well in mirky water. The Homminn fly catches both brown trout and arctic char and it's really simple to tie and totally worth keeping a few in your box when you go fishing. The story with the fly is so that I and a friend of mine mr. Þröstur Þór went fishing back in 2001 in Sauðlauksdalur in a real Icelandic storm. Both of us started using the classic Peacock fly but Þröstur got only one fish and I got none. So I decided to try this silly fly I made couple of years back, and BINGO fish on! And that kept going on for 90 minutes or as long as we had stamina to stay out in the crazy weather. In a matter of the 90 minutes time we fished we caught over 40 fishes each! And because of a great catch we decided to name this fly "Homminn". It's a good option to have some bright colour flies in your box if you are hit by weather like this and if the water get's mirky.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
