Material shopping

Since it's been freezing like it was winter the last week or so--maybe because it is winter--the fishing has been dead slow. I took my 15th and 16th skunked trips in a row this weekend, and I'm probably going to give up fishing ang start playing golf in stead. Nah, just kidding! What to do? Go shopping like any sensible person would do. I went out and bought a few materials, but only a few, because they are sooooo expensive. This is what I'm talking about today.

The Podcast was very interesting and I enjoyed it. The subject was well covered in an easy listening format. I enjoyed your dog and his antics. One of my friends has the same kind of dog and he herds the waves on the beach.
Thanks for a pleasant informative hour.

I am just getting started to tie flies and have VERY few materials. I only have the materials to make wooly buggers in brown and black. What are your suggestions for materials to buy to get further into fly tying? I live in western new york and live near a stocked brook trout stream. What are your suggesstions?

I agree that the prices are outrageous. I've searched the net a found a couple of good places. First for dubbing, flash, artifical hair fly tyers dungeon - flashbou equivalent for $1 a hank. Got some links to other things. Then there's ebay for fur, and bird skins. Got to shop and be willing to wait but it works. Just got a hungarian partidge skin for $15 total (cost plus shipping) a savings of about $10-$12.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
