Hooks and Collectable Streamers

It's been quite some time since I posted a cache of Ebay finds. This week there are tons of great items to put you bids in on. First up is one of my favourite hooks to tie streamers on, the Mustad 3097 B hook. This lot is for a box of 100 in size 4. The bid starts at $50 for these, but I would expect to see them end up close to $100. I like these hooks because they closely resemble the antique Alcock 1810 hooks that were used by Carrie Stevens for her iconic Rangeley Streamers. The "B" designation means these hooks are built from heavier wire than the "A" hooks, which can be a little bendy for long streamers. With good quality streamer hooks becoming more scarce, this is a great chance to pick up a nice size for presentation flies. The hooks are from Streamers 365 tyer Bob Petti, who is known for his laser crisp streamer eyes and meticulous hairwing classics. You'll also be pleased to know that Bob has put up a selection of other hooks including some Mustad 94720, Mustad 3907 A and Edgar Sealey 1762.B hooks.

One last streamer to note is an original pattern from streamer tyer Alan Emery. His Shipwreck Smelt pattern has a few hours left on auction. It's a sweet little smelt pattern with lots of layered color and appeal for passing piscivores.
