Olive Polar Magnus

When talking about classic flies for chasing sea-run brown around the coasts of Scandinavia, the island of Funen in Denmark has produced many of the classics. Patterns such as PK Flash, Grå Frede, Kobberbassen, Pattegrisen and Magnus are well known, but variants have often been created from the classics and turned into new-classics... The Danish fly fisherman and owner of the shop Go-Fishing Claus Eriksen made a variant of the Magnus, called Polar Magnus with added front hackle in pink and a little more flash, which immediately became a big hit. At the same time he also made a more discreet olive version, which did not get quite as much attention. It's a shame, because this olive version can be very deadly effective on quiet days, when the pink flashy version is a little too much for suspicious trout. We have teamed up with Mathias "Krølle" Ibsen, who will guide you through the tying of this fine edition of the classic Magnus.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
