Big shy Largemouth Bass
Forums:
Fly fishing - Fish Better
I am again looking for advise about shy Largemouth Bass. One of the small three acre ponds that I fish has huge Bluegills and a good number of bass. Some of the bass are in the trophy range. Lately, as the water warms, I have been catching some massive gills. On at least five occasions this past week, while bringing in a big Bluegill, a huge bass has made gigantic swirls swiping at the gill. They hit and almost grab the big gill but not quite. I have tried hollow fleyes of the appropriate color, clousers, bucktails, feather wings, shad immitations. Sinking. Floating. Slow. Fast.

Visiting Sweden this summer, need help
Forums:
Fly fishing - Fish Better
I'm planning way ahead but thought I would start getting a little info now. I'll be visiting the in-laws in Jakobsberg, close to lake Mälaren and also at their summer home in Hälsingland on the Ljusnan river in August. Would like to know about fly fishing opportunities in these areas or maybe day trips close to them. I've kayaked the Ljusnan a lot around Järvsö but haven't fished there before. I've also heard about a flyshop in Jakobsberg, which might also be a good source for tips and can point me to a good guide. Any info will be much appreciated! Tack! - Don

Wiggle Jig Worm
Maybe you found the previously published tandem rag worm too tandemnised and would be better off with a one-hook-only fly. Then The Wiggling Jigging Worm shown in this article is a good alternative.

Gozo or Malta
Forums:
About the Global FlyFisher
Does anyone have info on fly-fishing in Gozo, (small Maltese island)? I would be fishing from the shore. I have posted a question on another website, but here seems to be the centre for all things fly-fishing, and the fishingmalta website seems to be totally un-knowing about 'swff-ing'. We are going there in May for just a week, and the airline baggage-limits won't allow leeway for lots of fishing gear. Guess it'll be one rod, maybe two.

Global Flyfisher Summit 2007

About the Global FlyFisher
Greetings fly-fishers, Spring seems to be here (or nearly), and fishing rods seem to be calling from the cupboard in the Study. Are there any plans - or thoughts - for a GFF Summit for 2007? We had such a great time in 2006 that if there were dates published, we would probably sign up straight away, but I need to book it as holiday so the earlier the better! Regards to all the GFF Summit 06 gang, and tight lines, Les (and Nan)

Waiting for spring
GFF partner Martin Joergensen has a severe case of cabin fever. Too much work. Too long winter. Too much wind. Too little fishing. He's really looking forward to fishing on mild spring days as he says in this short piece featuring images from last spring and this winter and early spring.

I receive every month the Danish Sportsfiskeren magazine, and I've noticed that in that last two month they have not printed the tide calendar. Can anyone tell me where on the net I can find this info, (perferably in english). Thanks Paul Kalbrener
