The Barbell Tube
Steve Egge has been spending some time lately playing at the vise with some interesting bottle tubes. Here is his latest, which shows how varied you can be with tube tying. Tying behind the tube, on the tube body and in front of the tube.

Unbelievably fast-sinking lines???
Forums:
Fly fishing - Fish Better
Does anybody know where I can find "extra super-duper ultra fast-sinking fly lines"=) , preferrably lines for warm water fishing? The object is to reach down to 50-60 meters depth in a norwegian fiord, to catch saithe (Pollachius virens) on fly equipment. I have done this with a Rio 1150 grains, but that line is too soft and doubles up while sinking resulting in hangups, so I need something stiffer (warm water lines are stiffer in cold water) and, if possible, heavier. A super-fast sinking shooting line would also be helpful. /Bosse

Need translation from Danish to English

Fly fishing - Fish Better
Hi, we have checked the fishing maps here ( http://fredning.fd.dk/ ) and on some very interesting spots, some restrictions and limitations are applied. Unfortunately I do not understand Danish, so would be anybody so kind and could help? Is it possible to translete this? Fredningsperiode: 16. september - 15. januar Does it mean that fishing is restricted in this period? Is there any map with all the restrictions and areas where the fishing is forbiden?

Fly Drying Holder Base Question
Forums:
Fly tying - Tie Better
Hi, I have a question about the Fly Drying Holder and the base that holds the monofilament eyes up on this site: http://globalflyfisher.com/patterns/tabou-daddy/. Just scroll down to the section labelled "Monofilament Eyes" and there's a picture of the eyes on wires sticking out of a colored base. The base looks acryllic, but I was wondering what exactly the material it is made of is and where I can purchase it. It looks like an excellent idea and I would really like to try it. Thank you.

Kola autumn
After a famly vacation to Turkey, Lithuanian Mindaugas Banelis decided it was high time to go fishing somewhere in the North. The target was salmon. He decided that the Kola Peninsula was the ideal place to travel to. So he set off.

Kayak recommendations???
Forums:
Fly fishing - Fish Better
Hi Guys, as written in the previous post, I'll be heading the danish way...and I am going to buy a kayak in the states before I move - BUT - what to get?? 95% of my time in it will be along the inner danish shoreline - for starters around Falster and all the little islands in the southern part of Denmark. I also foresee a paddling trip to Aebeloe. To really mix it up, I also have a 4 year old son, that it could be fun to bring along on short nearshore trips - no need for extra gear on those occasions. He'll probably not be paddling, so I imagine having him sit between my legs...
