Step 4: flash and hackle

Tie in two fibers of Krystal Flash - one on each side. Secure the completed tail with varnish or glue. Take a long "Soft Hackle" and push the fibers against its natural direction. Tie it in at the barely dry base of the tail to get it fixed.
