#113 Red Riot - Dwayne Miller

Tied by: Dwayne Miller
Originated by: Duane Vigue
Source: Art of Angling Journal; Volume 2 Issue 1 pg. 127

Hook: Partridge CS15 #2/0
Thread: Red
Tag: Flat silver tinsel
Body: Red floss
Rib: Flat silver tinsel
Belly: Peacock herl followed by red bucktail
Wing: Four grizzly dyed red hackles
Shoulder: Silver pheasant body feather dyed red
Eyes: Jungle cock
Head: Red

Notes: As with many of Duane Vigue's patterns, there is always at least one material that can be hard to find stocked on the shelf, and might require a custom dye job. Thankfully Dwayne is well versed in dying feathers and was able to get a batch of the silver pheasant feathers dyed for the streamer. When the streamer gets wet, the red tones down and darkens, giving an impression more akin to an injured baitfish than a red-hot iron. The streamer has been quite successful with the brook trout on the lookout for easy prey.

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
